The consultant with no single source of truth

Client commitments scattered across emails, notes apps, and memory. When illness struck, no one knew what was promised or when.

    The Setup

Sarah ran a successful HR consultancy. She had 12 retainer clients and several project-based engagements.

She was brilliant at her job – everyone said so.

But Sarah kept everything in her head. Client agreements were in emails. Project timelines were in a notes app on her phone. Renewal dates? "I just remember them."

    What Happened

A sudden illness put Sarah in hospital for three weeks. Her husband Mark tried to keep things ticking over.

He had no idea where to start.

    The problems began immediately:

  1. Three clients had deliverables due that week. Mark had no idea what they were.
  2. A key client's contract was up for renewal. Mark didn't know if Sarah had discussed it with them.
  3. Two invoices needed sending. Mark couldn't find the rates Sarah had agreed.
  4. A new client had signed a proposal. Mark couldn't find it.
  5. The Fallout

Mark spent the first week just trying to figure out what needed to be done. By the time he had a picture,

several deadlines had passed. Two clients were frustrated. One decided not to renew.

When Sarah recovered, she spent months rebuilding trust and relationships.

    The Lesson

Sarah was doing everything right – except documenting it. All that knowledge, all those commitments,

    lived only in her head.

If she'd had WilPlus®, Mark would have known:

  6. Who her clients were and what they expected
  7. What was in progress and when it was due
  8. How to access her systems
  9. Who to contact if he needed help
  10. Don't let this happen to your business

WilPlus® helps you document everything someone else would need to know.
